  •  yep (12+ / 0-)

Obama isn't going to get any slack just because Bush got it in droves.

On the other hand, all of Obama's actions are certainly highlighting the lawless and damaging nature of the Bush years.  I think the average American will come to view it like that period when you dated that really hideous person for awhile.  You would have denied it at the time, and in retrospect you can't explain it, but now that it's over you just want to block out the details and make sure it never happens again...  ;P

those that can be put  in motion by executive orders or memorandums

that is when trad med and the right wing will really going to get crazy, remember every little thing they could blame Obama for is a little bit of stench that they could remove from GWB's "legacy"

Obama will be one of the greatest presidents ever imo, but that is going to necessitate pissing off us on things as well due to his commitment to inclusion and being president of all.

Something that to me is worth the compromises which might happen because its the first time i remember a president actually walking the walk

me included, after 8 years in the darkest and deepest wilderness, patient and willingness to reasonable compromises are not the attributes we have in abundance

Just look today, Obama in his remarks at state talked about the humanitarian issues for palestinians.

We will have great change for us during his administration, its already happening.  Thing is that part of the change is his ability to include all. Can you imagine Bush listening to dems or asking for their input? Hell would freeze over first.  So yes i understand impatience but i also am willing to not jump on every decision i disagree with. Some things are non negotiable such as closing gitmo, banning torture.  Others..are not negotiable but can have some wiggle room to include the other half of the country. Others we need to give a little on during the first 4 years to gain in the 2nd term or make room to have the next dem president after Obama.

but i suspect we will be begging congress to change the term limit to 3 terms lol
