  •  It's on my mortgage statement (0+ / 0-)

You know, they still offer the same rate I got last July.  Everyone else has come down, and they're still asking a full 6%.

Their whole world is coming apart, and they need a special jet or CitiJesus will cry.

"Balance" does not mean giving the same weight to a lie as you do to the truth.

    •  The collection center isn't laying anyone off (0+ / 0-)

At least the one here says that they are going to continue to be busy and don't foresee reducing staff any time soon.

      •  I recall in the early 2970s (0+ / 0-)

Citibank was then earning 80 cents of every dollar from overseas.  I was one of their US customers then and they were horrible to local customers.

Plus, why does Citi need bail out money when they are only going to hold on to it until the crisis is over, according to messages of their own executives played on the news over the weekend.  Citibank is one of the greedy businesses who caused this financial crash -- remember when they merged with Travelers Insurance, which was illegal at that time, but Clinton's adminsitration stepped in and  retroactively changed the law for them to get rid of the Glass Stegall Act.

I have not heard any Democrats calling for the reinstatement of that -- the Glass Stegall Act -- which protected our financial system from the abuses of the investment banks had cause us all once before in the 1920s, again after three Republican administrations let capitalists run wild.   the elites...actually believe that society can be destroyed by anyone except those who lead them? - John Ralston Saul -
