I've had a couple of bad bosses (discrimination-wise).

Emailing myself from a non-work account was a handy way to privately document things that had happened, plus it kept a date stamp on my notes.

Leaving a message on my home answering machine also worked; then I could transcribe and date my notes.

It helps to have dates, or at least a date range.  It adds credibility.  For example, "sometime during the week of January 4, Mr. Whosit called me into his office and described to me how he enjoys sitting naked with his wife on his balcony where other people might see them." Or "After lunch on January 11, Mr. Whosit explained to me that his neighbor's wife gave blowjobs to several men on a camping trip that he was on, and that he had been concerned about the roughness of the bark on the log she sat on while doing this, and that he thought she was remarkable for finishing her task without complaining about the tree bark."

(No wonder some women have a hard time reporting sexual harrassment because they think they won't be believed!)

Impeachment is a duty, not an option that can be taken off the table.
