mostly students to keep in touch with one another as they moved around the country to various colleges and universities.  I have passed this diary along with the TPM article to my daughter a college student.  If anyone can change the policy they will have the will and the way to get it done, and they do not take their privacy rights lightly.

What I wonder is does the new policy only apply to new users or does it also apply to existing users as they have already okay'd the old policy agreement when they signed up?  Wouldn't facebook have to send out a new policy agreement to the old users for it to apply?

The first thing lost in war is truth.

It started as an extremely small network of college students, then grew to cover almost every college, then they decided to expand it to high schoolers and everyone else.

What's funny is that it worked extremely well in terms of keeping people in, since the people like me (joined when it came to UCLA) who would have never signed up then if we knew what it would turn into are now so ensnared that is is more difficult (but still possible, of course).
