    It's a policy role.  And ideally, it would be someone who has a background in public health.  Doesn't have to be, because people have different combinations of strengths and weaknesses.  But it's exactly the political persona that I have to wonder about: would people accept him as someone to respect on health issues?  Sure, he's a doctor, I know that and you know that, but plenty of people don't, and I think it might be seen as nothing but a political payback.

    I'm just "typing out loud" here.  I'm not necessarily against it.  But I think it would come with negatives as well as positives.  

    That said, I think it would definitely be a better pick that Gupta, which (other than Gregg) was about the only Obama pick I really didn't like.
