    and the more I read, the more I get that "There's something rotten..." feeling.  The following two items are enough to give one pause.

    Officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department's CalARP unit - California Accidental Release Prevention Program - had given the city two deadlines since March to remove containers of toxic fluorosilicic acid from pumping sites.

    During inspections of the sites earlier this year, CalARP officials found five-year-old drums of fluorasilicic acid covered in dust, said CalArp supervisor Victor Nandiego.

    As the city prepares to begin fluoridating its water, local members of a group opposed to fluoridation are questioning the health risks of the procedure.

    The City Council on Friday will vote on awarding a contract for drinking water chemicals, including fluoride.

    The city plans to add the fluorosilicic acid to its water supply in response to a 1995 state law requiring fluoridation.

    City officials said the fluoride levels involved are below state and federal safety maximum standards.

    Why do politicians think it so important to make laws REQUIRING flouridation?  Like they (or the government) actually GIVES a SHIT that people have cavities??? Give me a break.

    I'd bet my last dollar that industry types have had a big hand in developing this IMPERATIVE flouridation "business".

    I drink rural well water, so don't have a personal stake in this, but I don't appreciate my countrymen being duped and poisoned.  And I don't like greedy corporations making profit by feeding their toxic waste, and their line of bullshit, to my fellow countrymen, either.  

    Please, flesh out this corporate-chemical-political relationship, if you can.  This sounds like a Republican scheme, frankly.  I'd like to know who had a hand in the INITIAL 1945 experiment on NYC (was it?) people...
