    My daughter lives in Quebec City and loves it there. (She's there as a student but would be envious of your residency status.)

    Now that she's on her own, she can't afford insurance coverage here in the states, but has access to health care in Canada as part of her student fees. Because of that, I get to worry whenever she to comes home for a visit as I know that a health emergency on our side of the border would result in debt as far as the eye can see.

    Somehow the idea of insurance (coverage to keep one from going under in an emergency) has lost all its meaning here in the good old USA. So that's why so many of us realize the only other solution is to have universal care something like Canada's.

    I'm very happy your daughter is well. What a scary event.. thankfully, not compounded by thinking you couldn't afford to get the care she needed.
