  •  David Geffen switched to Obama over this (2+ / 0-)

Rumor has it that a lot of money that may have gone to back Hillary's campaign switched to Obama's as a result of Bill Clinton's decision to pardon Mark Rich but not issue clemency or commute the sentence of Peltier.  Yet another reason why he should be considered a "political prisoner," since he is being bandied around as a political football.

The FBI, since its inception has been more about politics than it has been about fighting crime.  It's a disgraced part of our federal bureaucracy and deserves to be dismantled, and something new put in its place.

ashamed to admit i really thought that Bill was going to pardon Leonard... right until the end.  didn't know that about David Geffen and it's good to hear.  Bill's non-action was a massive disappointment and i agree, nothing short of a cynical, political, last-hand played.

... for a big enough donation to his library, sad to say.  Leonard didn't travel in those circles enough, I guess, for someone to put up the money.  (One of Clinton's less endearing qualities always has been his affinity for big money.)

Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall always be amused.

He was such a disappointment in the end, and later on too, of course.  And i'm not talking about the infamous beret or dress, I'm talking about the waste of his gifts.  somewhere along the line, his appetites overtook his intellect.

i stayed completely out of the politics of this last election in large part because i simply couldn't stomach the thought of thinking, reading, or communicating anything where i had to type/say the word "Clinton."

and that was a sad place to find myself as a dye-in-the-wool wild-eyed left-winger.
