      the NTY entrance

What does that stand for? In case you meant the New York Times...ummm...the editorial was in the Washington Post.

And what's the point of this post anyway? That the WaPo editors didn't know the prize couldn't be awarded to someone who is dead? So what? Could the point of the editorial simply be that, theoretically, there are others perhaps more deserving of the peace prize than Obama?

I find it telling that their choice of Neda would be mocked on a site that championed the Iranian protesters regardless of whether or not she technically qualified.

If you wanted to point out bad journalism, it was glaringly found in this false quote:

it would also dramatically improve the chances for world peace, since the regime that murdered her is pursuing nuclear weapons in defiance of the international community.

      Where's WaPo's proof for that?

SusanG also left out this part:

Announcing Friday that he would accept the award, Mr. Obama graciously offered to share it with "the young woman who marches silently in the streets on behalf of her right to be heard even in the face of beatings and bullets."

Are you going to go after Obama now for making the mistake of thinking the award could be offered posthumously as well?

out Neda of all the people who marched against Khamenei and Ahmadinejad?

Maybe because the living ones would have a lot of things to say that WaPo doesn't agree with? Dead heroes are much more convenient.

But apart from that, Neda personally didn't do anything any more extraordinary than millions of other Iranians, including hundreds of others who were just as unjustly killed.

    •  If NTY is supposed to mean New York Times, (0+ / 0-)

the New York Times' editorial supported Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
