Obama should not be RE-elected. He won't win. Democrats are not ready to be fooled a second time. He's not a progressive.

Many people have told me that now they really wish that they had voted for the other candidate in the primaries.

    •  Really? People have told you that? (0+ / 0-)

I haven't had that feedback yet.  Not that I think it is impossible, but just haven't had anyone go quite that far yet.  My bf who tends toward more Republican voting (old style moderate type) keeps calling him "your president" whenever he comes up in our conversations - he voted for him too - and the thing is that I could easily see my bf voting for a GOP candidate that appears to be sane in 2012.  I think it was mostly Palin who swayed his vote towards Obama and if the GOP doesn't nominate a nutcase on either part of the ticket next time - I think it is more likely than not that that one voter at least will go back to the other column.

I have a few other traditionally Republican friends that I fear will likely go on back to their party based on issues with non-performance.  It is funny because the bf seems to think that single payer healthcare would make the most sense.  We come to the present legislation with different perspectives in judging it, but we seem to hold about the same level of contempt for it which I think is really interesting - and not good for the Obama camp or the Democratic Leadershhip.  They are pleasing no one which is really pretty stupid from a party perspective, imo.

        •  Oh I don't disagree that "we've" fucked up. (0+ / 0-)

I just am not sure that everyone is quite as hot and heavy about it yet - not that I don't think we're going in that direction assuming the President and party leadership do not change their course.  I was just asking you about the people you've heard saying that they are done at this juncture.  I haven't heard anyone go quite that far outside of the blogs as yet.
