    First thing:  I stand with the nurses. What the hospital is doing is reprehensible.  In what follows, I'm describing reality rather than endorsing it.

    In Garcetti vs. Ceballos 547 U.S. 410 (2006), the US Supreme Court ruled that public employees have no free speech rights while acting in their professional capacity.  Let that sink in for a moment.  Public employees have to check their citizenship rights at the door.  Given the opportunity, this Court would likely expand that ruling to private employees.

    Do what needs to be done, but it's going to take organization rather than lawsuits over citizenship rights to win this dispute.
