This man needs to quit it or there is going to be a serious draft campaign for his Presidency. Just when you think it's impossible to love him more...

    •  If Alan Grayson was President, or is drafted, and (7+ / 0-)

wins, I can promise you this:

      1.  He will end the wars in the Middle East and bring our soldiers home to their families.
      1.  He will clean up Wall Street, demand serious reform, and accountability, including throwing those in jail who have blatantly conducted criminal activities such as predatory lending, and charge those 'paid off Regulators' with real crimes.
      1.  He will take the current fake HCR package and turn in into a viable Public Option with medicare for all.

And that's just the beginning.  Alan Grayson reminds me more and more of the perfect cross between LBJ in his 'courage to twist arms' and not putting up with Republican 'bullies', Harry Truman in his 'Give Em Hell' - no nonsense approach to government, and the great Huey Long, as a true populist candidate because Alan Grayson transcends the 'status quo' and by his actions, most especially in going after War Profiteering and Wall Street Crooks, he has proven himself a rare public servant...who 'gets it'......Unlike 'some' he 'walks the talk' and puts his reputation on the line based on his voting record, which is clearly on the side of 'Main Street'...not Wall Street.

Obama sounded very similar, promising the same things...right up to the time he walked into the Oval Office and sat down to get to work.  Then all of a sudden the rhetoric became expendable that he might get more "palatable for the masses" legislation approved.

I'm not a politician so I don't have to compromise my rhetoric for political expediency.  Grayson is and would have to.  No politician can succeed as a "damn the consequences" game-changer because they always have an eye on the next election.

As much as we may idolize the few who stand up as true mavericks...the reality is that their job as a politician requires lying, shifting, backtracking and capitulating.  Just like you and me, they don't want to lose their jobs.

A couple of years ago Feingold was Grayson.  Now Feingold is a silent partner.  I hope Grayson stays in the House and stays vocal... He can do more good as a voice in Congress for the next thirty years than he could as President for 4 or 8.  And since he won't run till 2016...he has plenty of time to keep building his resume or adding skeletons to his political closet.  We'll have to wait and see what actually happens.

        •  well...I guess we can agree to disagree... (0+ / 0-)

He can do more good as a voice in Congress for the next thirty years than he could as President for 4 or 8.

I base my beliefs and my faith in Congressman Grayson on 'his actions'...not just 'his words.'  And I disagree with you 'generalized notion' that all politicians (or Presidents) 'requires' that they will become: lying, shifting, backtracking and capitulating.  Let me give you a 'stark' example of the difference between Congressman Alan Grayson and our own President Obama:  These are the 'actions' of Congressman Grayson for direct 'accountability' on the most catastrophic corruption in our financial markets that brought our economy to ruins:

Welcome to my Accountability Page.  As your Representative in Congress, please know that I will always be working to promote transparency and accountability, and combat waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayers' dollars.  This page is specifically designed to make it easy to get information about some of the actions I am taking to maintain a transparent and accountable government.

(And this is only 'one' of the areas that Grayson is moving in the 'right direction towards'...see his website).

Now, I'm asking you, to please show me, anything that President Obama has done in any way, shape or form' to hold those accountable and to clean up the 'insane amount of corruption' that is 'still' being allowed to occur on his 'watch.'  When Senator Dodd recently wrote a letter to AG Eric Holder, demanding that Holder 'investigate' Lehman Bros and 'any other organizations that have conducted similar cooking of the books' (such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan)...Neither President Obama, or Treasurer Timothy Geithner stood up in support of Senator Dodd's 'fake request' to AG Holder, which I can promise you, will 'go no where.'  Please feel free, to list those 'actions' taken by the Obama administration to curtail the 'controlled fraud' that is being allowed to continue by Wall St/The Banks.  Thanks.
