    in Manhattan. Much of the labor force live elsewhere where COL is lower.

    Some share apartments so they can afford to live in Manhattan. They also have rent controlled apartments, but the cost of other goods is more expensive than most of the rest of the country.

    It ain't cheap, that much I know.

    I lived in center city Phila years ago. Shared an apartment in a old building. Since there were no supermarkets, the cost of food and other groceries was higher than in other neighborhoods. We had one car and parking was very expensive. Needed the car because roommate taught in the burbs - no public transportation.

    Progressives will win when the country becomes Progressive.
