    Thanks for posting!  Regardless of what's going on behind the scenes, I expect it will have some impact.  How can it not?  Were this to continue, I expect that a vocal and more progressive Bill Clinton would have a significant effect on the politics of the moment.  

    A left-leaning Clinton would have little effect on the tea partiers, except to make them froth a bit more at the mouth.  But he could help excite progressives and provide cover with the independents for Obama to advance some bolder policies.  

    I don't even think it would make a huge difference whether this is just Bill Clinton becoming more candid and bold on his own or whether it represents a coordinated strategy with the White House.  

    My hunch is it's Bill on his own.  

    But one point to clear up:  Robert Rubin is not a current member of the National Economic Council, though he was a Director during the Clinton Administration.
