    I'm weeping, for the day, back when, when we had standards.

    Well in the 90s we were cursed with Rush.
    In the 80s we had Morton Downey Jr.
    In the 50s we had McCarthy.
    In the earlier 20 th century we had Father Coughlin.
    20 years from now there will be some new hateful dilrod on the air.

    Beck is just the latest growth out of the mud of ignorance and discontent.  Battling back against these guys is like battling weeds in a garden. Its a continual effort.

      ...we had Joe Pyne, and in the 70s we had George Putnam. Well, Putnam was a going concern from before then to about 2008. He was on the radio up until a couple of weeks before he died.

      I miss William F. Buckley, Jr. -- I didn't agree with his politics but at least he was a class act.
