    Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.

but it never fails: the "opinion leaders," who as often as not are perpetrators of the harmful misbehavior that I'm trying to stop, characterize any kind of whistleblowing as "snitching."

I can just picture Cheney giving this warning to every intimidated, quivering underling that crosses his path.

A snitch is never, ever safe again.

Rumsfeld of course, wouldn't bother with the warning.  He would just do away with the "snitch and let the actions speak for him.  But Cheney would find the warning process orgasmic and do it often.
