  •  Confront Iowa voters. (5+ / 0-)

In campaigns like this, where the candidate is free to speak the truth, why not confront Iowa voters on their vote for the GOP.

Why do they vote GOP when:

    1. GOP ran up $14T in debt over last 30 years while claiming to be fiscal conservatives.
    1. GOP stole $3T from their Social Security and now wants to cut Social Security benefits instead of paying the money back.
    1. GOP votes against health care reform and for insurance company 30% a year rate hikes while denying medical care.
    1. GOP votes for oil companies over America, increasing US oil dependence, financing terrorism, causing global warming that is going to devastate Iowa farms, causing big trade deficits, killing US auto industry.
    1. GOP failed to regulate Wall Street gamblers and caused the Great Recession costing US 14 million jobs.

others into doing things that are a direct confrontation to their beliefs/best interests.  They're good "speakers" and con artists.  They're TERRIBLE at governing and getting things done for the American People!

Gosh, I so wish that more people understood this!

Typically politicians are afraid to confront voters over voting for a GOP that says one thing (fiscal conservatism) and does another (deficits, debt).

In Iowa, with no chance of unseating Grassley, do some seeding of the ground and confront the voters and confront Grassley on his hypocrisy and the failure of GOP policies.

        •  Sounds to me that there is a good chance (2+ / 0-)

that Grassley will be defeated this year, and by Roxanne Conlin!

That said, however, I still agree with you.  Cons are not going to stop their shell games, etc, unless they're confronted head-on.  I would love to see Grassley be confronted directly during a debate on those issues you listed.  I would love to see him forced to answer for his past deeds (or lack thereof).  If it's televised, all the better too!

In the meantime, we need to be more direct in our descriptions of the republiCONs.  We need to be more disciplined in our messaging and call them out for the manipulators, con artists, cheats and liars that they are.  They are getting away with further ruining our Country; the time is NOW to get the message out there, loud and clear!

Besides, there's never any reason to vote for a republicon; unless, of course, you are either rich or racist (or both).

to argue with this guy that Conlin could win..he has the perfect crystal ball and has already declared that Alex Giannoulias and now Conlin stand no chance vs their GOP opponents with 6 months to go.
