    Among other things, the Great Lakes commercial fishery is just beginning to recover after decades of work, and it will take decades more for it to even come close to what it once was.  An Asian carp invasion could set all of that back permanently.

      Allowing massive ecosystem dislocations is not good for humans.  We're dependent on ecosystem stability.

      In the great scheme of things, this is just evolution in action.  Evolution in action is also what will drive humanity extinct, of course.
