    From today's NYT:

Inside BP, there is a view that President Obama’s unflinching criticism of BP and its chief executive represents an unprecedented example of a chief of state interfering in the affairs of a corporation.

Guess they haven't been listening to FAUXnews across the pond (neither have I, but it's content is predictable).

When the corporation(s) trash the planet, act irresponsibly and kill our marine life & shores, someone has to tell them off. The corporations operate in this country by grants (charters) given by the government. I'd like to know which state BP is chartered under?  That state AG & Holder should be very busy.

Not only have we been disappointed in Prez Obama in this mess, but in Holder.

BTW - I think most of us are directing our anger at the 'culture' of the corporations such as British Petroleum, Halliburten, & TransOcean; not the British people, or 80% of the regular employees of BP.

Obama's criticism is the result of an all too precedented example of a multibillion-dollar corporation interfering in the affairs of a nation & an ecosystem, & expecting to get off lightly.

Let us all keep in mind that, while incorporation was devised specifically to limit the liability of the corporation's shareholders (hence the first L in LLC or the British Ltd.), the limit to that liability is the value of their stake in the corporation--and NOT their quarterly dividend or current stock value. If every asset BP owns has to be sold off to pay for this mess, & if there's nothing left for the shareholders to divvy up, tough.
