    Had my say.

The BP Deepwater Horizon is a legitimate testing issue on which this president's administration will be evaluated and this president's actions assessed by history.  Beyond that is the scientific richness of understanding ecological disasters of this magnitude that will provide years of study and learning opportunities.  Still more, technology and the role it plays in our lives will experience a reorientation in discussions about it.  And a politico-sociological debate is underway that is about to become richer, denser, and more difficult, regarding the extent of legal and ethical culpability corporations and their culture have in such events.

Finally, I think the DH tragedy will obviously spark further debate about the addiction to fossil fuels and the relationship people have with their planet's resources and the agents it allows to exploit them, both in manner of performance and in consideration of the oversight of private companies mining public "lands" for corporate gain.
