I believe the Macarthur analogy is apt, but further I believe it is obvious that McChrystal is a Cheney/MIC/Oil mole.

There is also a distinct possibility that he is being groomed for a run for President by Cheney and the powers behind him.

If that is true, then McChrystal wins if he is fired.  He will be set up as the man who spoke his mind and challenged Obama.  It will be like if Macarthur ran instead of Eisenhower.  I believe this is what McChrystal/Cheney actually want and that this Rolling Stone article was orchestrated to put the challenge to Obama.  This was no "mistake."

McChrystal also of course wins from Cheney's perspective if he Obama lets him stay.  Obama will appear weak, he may lose additional support inside the military (although as we know 80% of the military is Republican) and worst of all, he will have McChrystal over there fucking things up.  Remember that McChrystal ran the death squads so if Obama tries to pull out and McChrystal is still there, expect there to be a significant uptick in "death squad" type activities.

Send your old shoes to the new George W. Bush library.
