  •  It it passes I am moving to CA (5+ / 0-)

Just not sure I can afford living there on aprox 96K per year? I hear apartments are expensive..

    •  It is pretty much legal there NOW, which (6+ / 0-)

is interesting because legalizing won't change that much!

    •  You can get by just fine on 96K (3+ / 0-)

I live in San Diego in a 4-bedroom house on something like that.  If you like upscale, you might just kind of have to temper your expectations.  We moved here from the midwest a couple of years ago, and our standard of living is roughly the same, although we rent instead of owning (mostly due to housing market weirdness but also because homes are crazy expensive!)

And yes, my wife is a medical MJ patient.  But I would like to be able to have the option to grow.  Or at least have more of a fair trade market unencumbered by the crazy rules.  Good pot is pricey here if you're getting it legally.

I believe that your wife has the option to grow her own.

        •  hm - thanks for the info (0+ / 0-)

We're really not all that educated on it, being n00bs, but yeah, that makes sense because some of the coops sell equipment for indoor horticulture.

If you grow on your own property, you open yourself up to Federal bullshit.

The DEA assholes do sometimes bust some poor sap with six plants for their glaucoma needs, and then they insist in court that your home must be have been purchased with drug proceeds since you were cultivating.

So, a lot of people who need medical cannabis don't grow, since the Feds can't pull that crap if you just have half an ounce of buds in a jar.
