If you smoke a whole lot, in certain forms, you might increase your risk of lung cancer similarly to what Los Angeles pollution does. It might raise your blood pressure if you're prone to high blood pressure. If you have tachychardia, it can exacerbate it. These two are temporary side effects only and go away after a few hours. There are no long-term side effects that I know of from smoking marijuana. Some of my friends have been smoking like... man... an eighth a day since 1968 or something. And occasionally they have to quit for a drug test for work or whatever. I see NO difference.

Nor do I notice any serious difference in myself when I've been a heavy smoker (which is fifteen years back now, or more). Even academically and all that.

    •  Hilarious! You see no difference in your friends (0+ / 0-)

BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN SMOKING AN EIGHTH A DAY FOR FORTY YEARS! You have no way of knowing how they might have developed had they smoked a lot less, or not at all.

Weed is especially dangerous for teens and their developing central nervous systems. It's quite addictive (as your friends exemplify perfectly), and constant ingestion of THC, particularly at the levels found in today's highly hybridized pot, is debilitating for most people. For the young, it can completely short circuit their intellectual and emotional maturation.

      •  as will a pint of vodka a day (0+ / 0-)

make sure your kids don't do that.
