The void fills with memories that seem more bittersweet as time goes on. Their passing was made easier by good people at an organization called Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix Az, a non profit founded by the wife of Barry Goldwater.
    I wrote a poem for my parents that corresponds with the philosophy of the hospice and if I may let me share it with you now;

    they are the light
    that never ends
    they are the love
    the joy the memory
    of family and friends
    they may be gone
    but they live within
    the embers that glow
    let's part of me know
    that we'll meet again

    he is the light
    he is my guide
    she is my sight
    my song, the reason
    that I'm filled with pride
    they are my strength
    that can't be denied
they are the spark that remains
    after the pain
    of my tears has dried

    He is a hero
    a teacher a friend
    She is the promise
    of love that goes on
    without end
    They are the tide
    that raises the soul
    a current that runs
    neath moonlite and sun
    and never grows old

    they are my light
    they are my past
    they are the flame
of a torch that is made
    to be passed
    they are my bread
    the words of my song
    as sure as the dawn
    drinks dew from the lawn
    their light will burn strong

    as long as the dawn
    means darkness is gone
    their light will go on
