  •  Then we should all (5+ / 0-)

get our funny costumes and get our mad on - I draw the line at misspellings.  ;-)

It's crap that this doesn't have a corporate sponsor, but we can't let that stop the energy, marabout.  It's been this way for 30 years at least.  I think the only reason the anti-war movement got press was the funny looking hippies.  Maybe I've gotten too old and cynical, but I don't remember that we got much positive coverage.  It seems to me that the only time we hit the news cycle was when we were naughty.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.

    •  Not having corporate sponsors in kinda the point (4+ / 0-)

Sure, it's crap to have the playing field tilted so steeply against us. But, that only makes the message that more remarkable when we pull it off. When we talk to the local papers about why we're going, we need to mention who's sponsoring this, vs who sponsored the Brooks Brothers Riot, the pro-insurer town hall disturbances, and the pro-billionaire anti-government rallies.

In a way, I welcome the 10/30 rallies. With just announcing them, Colbert and Stewart forced the media to make our point for us: the field's not level, and to get noticed you need money, celebrities, and/or insane spectacle.

Why is there a Confederate Flag flying in Afghanistan?

which is what I was lamenting.  Why don't WE have our own Cable outlet?  Oh, I remember, we're not batshit crazy enough to want to support what they approve of.

Oh, well, I've always been on the out side.  Why change now?
