  •  Plus, employee expense is PRE-tax. (5+ / 0-)

These people (READ: Republicans) who keep saying that the small increase in taxes prevents people from hiring are just plain idiots. They act like hiring is an act of philanthropy that comes from profit. Umm, no. For supposedly being the party of business, they certainly don't get it.

    •  & what's up w/ these multimillionaire candidates? (1+ / 0-)

We have had even more multimillionaire candidates than usual this election season.  None o them admit to getting rich not because they merely got lucky--- nor did they get rich simply because they were good at something which generated a lot of positive cash flow.  It was invariably because they had a passion and a knack for creating jobs.

And that raises the question of why they ran for office at a time when effective labor costs are lower than they have been in decades, and probably lower than they will be in the future.  The last couple of years would have been the perfect time to stock up on workers.  If your goal in life is to have as many people on your payroll as possible, right now is the ideal time to recruit and train them and get them onboard.  But this is not what the many tycoons who ran for office this year did: they did not put their egos aside to concentrate on maximizing their payroll. They spent their money running for office instead, which is not necessarily bad thing to do with your money--- but it is not something which creates jobs.

        elected office = power

        and

        power = money. So

        elected office = money.

        Basic math.

You need 4 things to run for higher office.

          1.  a big ego
          1.  money (your own money and/or your contributors')
          1.  a modicum of intelligence
          1.  at least a little bit of knowledge about every conceivable topic

Those 4 things also come in handy in the business world.

        can buy.

Money first in the country. Although the document says we the people it really means we the rich people who can buy and sell other people.

They want to assure us more money and power for the already moneyed and powerful.

They are parasites vampire perhaps. They serve no function other than the destruction of the American dream.

When are we going to stop going along with the rich deserve it! They don't they are just sneakier.
