    I was just commenting on another reason to keep tax rates on the low side. It helps small business accumulate funds for expansion over a number of years. If you borrow, I suppose interest payments are deductible, but if you try to put some profit aside as savings, some of it will be taxed away at the rate for income. So people might be pushed into loans instead of self-financing, which can lead to added drag on a business if the economy takes a downturn. Finance yourself and you don't have to worry about paying somebody else interest, and have less of a chance of going out of business in bad times.
