      Non-organic is subsidized up the yin-yang. Since organic is better for the public in every way, all those non-organic subsidies should be switched to organic. That would lower the price, the way it does for the non-organic.

      •  Sustainable, not organic is the way to go and (0+ / 0-)

        should be subsidized. They call it "green payments" in the EU. On the milk subject, we have a dairy coop here, exceptional animal care, grass fed cows. They have lower somatic cell counts than most organic dairies.

        Religion and science don't have to be hostile to each other, but we can stop setting them up on blind dates.

      to externalize certain costs (e.g., the cost of slaughtering hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in order to maintain the petroleum flow) in order to keep prices low enough that unsustainable production practices will be followed right up to the point where the underlying resource bank fails?
