    Regular corn syrup has been around for a long time. Lots of homemade candies and other treats use it. (In texture it's very thick, like honey or molasses.)

    HFCS is heavily processed, and the molecules are changed in ways that make the human body not recognize it as a sugar. Far too many food manufacturers used HFCS in their products, everything from sodas to bread to ice cream to cereal. (In texture, it's very thin and runny.)

    On the whole, I prefer not to be lectured on patriotism by those who keep offshore maildrops in order to avoid paying their taxes. - Molly Ivins
