  •  Actually, his orientation is VERY relevant... (none)
when you run on a platform that is built with planks that are expressly and vehemently anti-gay.  When you then employ more than a few of those you seek to vilify (Gannon/Gukert, Mehlman, etc...,)to do your dirty work as well as put into places of trust, it creates a complete contradiction to the plank that the voters trusted you with.

Now I don't give two hoots who you sleep with or how you do it.  But the right does and this underscores what ultimate hypocrites that the GOP members really are.  They will use hot-point issues to drive the passionate to vote and then use the offices to enrich themselves and their buddies while destroying society and the environment for the rest of us.

All of Gannon/Gukert's warts are on the table and relevant.  They don't all need to be the primary focus, but they all need to be used to highlight the hypocracy and the criminality of the repugs.

The difference between us and them is this:
They think cheating is o.k. until you're caught.
We think cheating is wrong - always.

    •  I respectfully disagree. (none)
Republican hypocrisy is another issue.  This is about integrity, and whether or not Bush believes his agenda can "stand on its own two feet."

It can't, and that should be the focus.

      •  I think in a convoluted way... (none)
that your point is what I (clumsily) was trying to make.  The integrity/agenda issue are and should be the primary focus.  But I believe that all other issues are relevant in the framing of that focus.

In other words, I respectfully agree with you.

        •  Relevant but not as important (none)
Given that Rove's "winning" 2004 election strategy was to put gay marriage referenda on ballots across the country, the hypocrisy of Gannon's sexual orientation is quite relevant. But the far more important point is his role as a plant and possibly  a treasonous media plant at that.

            for making my point exactly!

          •  The gay well runs dry (none)
Gannon being gay and/or a prostitute is only hypocritical if you can prove GOPUSA or Rove knew about it.  What are the chances of that?  Zero.  All they have to do is deny knowing anything about Gannon's personal life (and they probably don't) and the story goes dead cold.

The real issue is the Bush Administration placing a shill in the White House press corps--A "reporter" with no journalism background and his fingerprints all over a secret CIA memo.  Now that dog can hunt.
