  •  I'd be for this, but it's sort of quixotic. (1+ / 0-)

I think that this is a pretty sensible plan, but it will look like class warfare to everyone but the Daily Kos audience.

Being for this is one thing. I am. But I also know that changes are not going to happen unless they're incremental. I'm not sure what strategy she's pursuing here. To glom together every wet budget dream of progressivism [notice the part about single payer health care, for example] and present it as a plan is to make a lightning rod. I mean, right wingers will often attack straw men. But now they have an actual plan to attack.

There is no way that her actions are sanctioned by the higher ranks of the party. That just increases the old perception of Democratic disarray. So I'm not saying that she's wrong. I'm saying she's a dreamer. She's not the only one, but when you have an important position in DC like she does, you might not want to always go on TV and describe your dreams.

    •  so what it the right move then? (1+ / 0-)

seems injecting sensible, fact-based approaches into the mainstream discourse would be a good thing.

      if not that, then?

and Democrats are indeed in disarray. the way to fix that is for the neo-lib DC-consensus-types to get with the program.
