think it is, but when Commander in Chief Walker threatens the use of the National Guard, isn't that an entirly empty threat? Aren't they Federalized?

When goopers treid to build up Sarah Paylins national security didn't they point out her experience as Alaska National Guard commander? Untill it was pointed out to them that they federalized and she had nothing to do with them.

Appears to me that Walker is a General with no army.

     They work for the President.

    •  I'm not positive, but believe Gov can call out (5+ / 0-)

local National Guard in emergencies, like big flood, etc. without (or before) any consultation with Feds, because sometimes quick action is needed.

However, calling out the Guard to coerce those who are exercising their right to political opposition?  Hmm--sounds like that would not only be illegal but also incredibly stupid.

Which is why it's the Wisconsin National Guard. They can be federalized, which happened in the civil rights era.

Governors call out the guard for a variety of things. Among them dealing with riots and civil disturbances, real or imagined.

Shit happens. So when you flush thank a liberal.

Heh!  Each group has a few, a few, deluded souls, distinct from the grifter/liars.  (Song: "Scott's not Crazy; He's a Liar" -   "... he's a cheater, with a prior"... or whatEVer...)

Anyway, these people see things that aren't there, but are blind to things that are right in front of them.

This minority is weak-minded and weak-willed, no matter how much "noise" it makes.  The majority is responsible for seeing to its well-being, WHILE not allowing it to distract from serious endeavors - much less set the agenda!

Beyond simple ignorance, some are afflicted with delusions, dementia, or whatever.  A responsible society desiring self-preservation will not suffer them to "make decisions".  Of ANY ilk...

[Substitute "child / elderly parent" for "minority", there, and "responsible adult" for "majority", for yet another take...]

      •  The NG was federalized after 911 (0+ / 0-)

It`s why they have been a revolving door of tours since.
The NG may have been federalized during the civil rights time, but I don't think so, because they sure as hell were not during Viet Nam.

        •  Thanks (0+ / 0-)

I stand corrected I guess. Certain state's guard units were temporarily federalized during certain periods of the civil rights era to keep governors like George Wallace from using them against protestors, as Walker, Wisconsin Ranger, is threatening to do here.

Shit happens. So when you flush thank a liberal.
