    Though I still don't think Hatch or Moe were great opponents.  He ran the kind of campaign and projected himself as the kind of candidate that one would need to do to win as a Republican in Minnesota... Can that translate to the national stage?  We'll see.

    Like I said, I think that Pawlenty has a better shot than of any of the other Republican nominees, though that's more a slam on them than praise to him... Still, I don't think that, barring the economy getting significantly worse, his chances winning are too great:  Obama's a pretty damn good campaigner as well, and there is enough evidence that he has at least done a decent job.

      I thought when the DFL ran Hatch and Moe that it was pushing a big rock uphill.  Niether one got me very excited, and I am a DFL diehard.  Prince Timmy gave himself the chance to win by not giving away what an a-hole he really is, but even so, he won by only a few percentage points over weak candidates.  And since then, he has shown his true colors.  He couldn't win Minnesota now, except for maybe the 6th district.
