According to Boise Weekly:
The Washington Post's Allison Klein reported Wednesday afternoon that Idaho Republican Sen. Mike Crapo, busted for DUI on December 23, told Alexandria, Virginia law enforcement that he consumed "several shots of vodka" prior to being stopped after running a red light.
The Post obtained court documents revealing that a police driver "immediately detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage" on Crapo's breath which "became stronger as [Crapo] spoke."
The police officer wrote that Crapo said he had "drank the vodka hours earlier," according to the Post. ... He's expected to offer more details surrounding the DUI incident within the next several days.
He was hammered.
Merry Christmas, Mike.
Well, at least he cooperated with police.
This is just in, from Politico:
