Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has proclaimed today as "Protect Life Day" in Wisconsin, however, the official proclamation first appeared on a Catholic conservative blog and is not available on any official Wisconsin state government website.
Heather DuBois Bourenane, a progressive blogger from Sun Prairie, e-mailed Governor Walker himself about the anti-choice proclamation, and, according to Bourenane, Walker's gubernatorial office told her that he did, in fact, sign an official proclamation designating today "Protect Life Day" in Wisconsin. Bourenane is in the process of contacting mainstream media outlets in Wisconsin, however, the sentencing of former Walker aide Tim Russell for stealing from veterans' groups is certainly going to be the big anti-Walker story on the local news in Wisconsin tonight, so they probably will not cover this.
Call Governor Walker's office at (608) 266-1212, or e-mail Governor Walker's office at firstname.lastname@example.org, and demand him to explain why he would sign an anti-abortion proclamation without wanting Wisconsinites to know that he did so.
