Sen. Rand Paul
On February 1st, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced S204 - the National Right to Work Act to, in his words,
seeks to preserve and protect the free choice of individual employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, or to refrain from such activities.
Which just goes to show how much of an idiot Rand Paul is. No one is forced to pay union dues. While it is frowned upon, if you don't want to pay dues you don't have to. Of course that makes you a leech and moocher as you will be getting all of the benefits of a union contract without paying your share.

Senator Paul goes on to say:

"Every American worker deserves the right to freedom of association - and I am concerned that the 26 states that allow forced union membership and dues infringes on these workers' rights," Sen. Paul said. "Right to work laws ensure that all Americans are given the choice to refrain from joining or paying dues to a union as a condition for employment. Nearly 80 percent of all Americans support the principles and so I have introduced a national Right to Work Act that will require all states to give their workers the freedom to choose.
Of course Rand Paul is getting his "80% of all Americans" statistic from the not at all biased National Right to Work Committee. As a matter of fact a look at their web page tells you exactly where Rand "Not an original thought in his head" Paul got this idea.

Of course the National Right to Work Committee claims that they are...

...neither “anti-union” nor “pro-union.” The focus is on individual freedom. The Committee affirms the right of all Americans to be free of compulsory unionism abuses.
What a crock of shit. Unions built this country and unions are what will make this country stronger. Luckily with the Senate in Democratic hands this bill has no chance of ever seeing the light of day.
