Worlds Smallest Park 2

Mill Ends Park is only two feet in diameter, made up of just a small patch of grass, a few plants and the one tree. It's not only Portland's smallest park, but it's also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's smallest park.

Officials with Portland Parks and Recreation said it appeared that someone yanked out the lone tree and took it. There was no word on any possible suspects in the case.

On Wednesday, park officials made repairs. They planted a small Douglas Fir sapling, at a cost of just $3.25.  The park is located at the intersection of Southwest Naito Parkway and Taylor Street, near the Willamette River.

The pine has been replaced with a Douglas Fir. No word on if a shrubbery will be added.

I may go looking for clews in the morning.

As you can see from a cursory search, the tree seems to rotate often.
