Whew what a relief! One of the Birthers- in - Chief is down with the Obamas living in the White House! "They deserve to live in the White House". They deserve to occupy it, to have security, and fly on a private plane, but that's where she draws the line.
Republicans have suddenly discovered that the Presidency costs US taxpayers money, and they're having none of it.
BACHMANN: And this is a lifestyle that is one of excess. Now we find out that there are five chefs on Air Force One. There are two projectionists who operate the White House movie theater. They regularly sleep in the White House in order to be readily available in case the first family wants a really really late show. And I don’t mean to be petty here, but can’t they just push the play button? We are also the ones who are paying to walk the president’s dog. Paying for someone to walk the president’s dog. Now why are we doing that when we can’t even get a disabled veteran into the White House for a White House tour?"I don't mean to be petty" - but I will be!
The Republicans have become so petty that they think they should be the ones choosing which 'perks' of the Presidential lifestyle the President gets to have. That means, no calligraphers, no dogwalkers, no projectionists, and cool it with the chefs on Air Force One. They are too stupid to realize that the Obamas are not having calligraphers personally emboss everything florally for them, but it is meant to keep up proper appearances of the office for all the functions the White House conducts.
Everyone is no doubt well aware what a model of austerity the Bush White House was. Right?
I didn't think it was possible, but the Republicans, led by chief twit Michele Bachmann, have stooped to a new low. And conservatives all over the internet are crowing about it, thinking that she has somehow 'stuck it' to the Obamas. They are sickening. Never mind that the Obamas have the lowest net worth of any Presidents, and even though the Bachmann's campaign account has over two million dollars in it, she refuses to pay her staff a measly $5,000.
When did bills for having a presidency suddenly become an issue? Oh wait, when Republicans finally decided that deficits are an important issue? And somehow, none of these things were signs of an 'excessive lifestyle' when the President wasn't black! In fact, if I'm not mistaken, The Bushes had TWO dogs at one time!
