The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group.  It is a place to note of any observations you have made of the world around you.  Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers.  All are worthy additions to the bucket.  Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment.  Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us.
My parsley is starting to bloom - see below the orange squiggle for more.

Castro Valley, 4/23/13, Parsley blooms are starting to open

I have an Italian parsley that I have let go to seed. It is about 5 feet tall and developed what I had previously considered to be seed heads. Today some of them opened out into flowers. The plant produces numerous flower clusters, each looking like green Yarrow or Queen Anne's Lace, and each point in the cluster is a miniscule flower. These flowers sit there closed for the longest time, but today a very few have at last opened.

Your Turn

Ok, time for your reports. What is happening in the natural world in your vicinity, and where, at least in general, is that? Please post your observations in the comments as usual.

Thank you.

FWIW, I'll again be tending the diary intermittently, but will check in to rec and reply off and on throughout the day and evening.,
