On Monday Clear Channel Outdoor, one of the world's largest outdoor advertising companies, ran pictures of the Boston skyline and names of the 4 victims last week--3 who died in bombings and one MIT police officer who was shot and killed.

The reverential gesture stands in stark contrast to Clear Channel Media Company's talk radio golden boy Rush Limbaugh and his cruel take on the events in Boston.

Just one day after the bombings Limbaugh felt it was time to joke about exploding pressure cookers--despite the fact that an 8 year-old boy (and 2 others) had been murdered, leaving a 6 year-old sister missing a leg and a mother with brain damage behind:

"Background check on the pressure cooker?  May happen.  Do the mentally ill use pressure cookers?  I'm trying to think.  I think, you know, when I was growing up, I saw one.  I think my grandmother had a pressure cooker.  If I'm not mistaken, I saw one being used. It was on the top of her stove.  I didn't know she was so dangerous.  She had a pressure cooker, and it was on the top of the stove.  There was something in it.  I don't know what she had in it.  But it was on top of the stove and there was smoke coming out of there.  Something was escaping from it.  Well, yeah, it would have exploded had the pressure cooker top not been on top of the pressure cooker, keeping the pressure inside.  She could have blown up the kitchen and everybody in it."

Clear Channel must forgive the public for being a little cynical on this one.  The most respectful gesture you could make toward victims of the Boston bombings would be to get that insensitive blowhard off of our public airwaves.
