I talked to him again!

Hearing his voice sounding almost normal and saying "I love you!" was such a gift.

I'll see him tomorrow and talk to him.

I want to thank everyone here for the support. It has helped me NOT to say thigns I actually feel but which wouldn't help the situation. Now if I can somehow convinve MiL that the sort of "pretend it never happened" idea isn't recommended when processing trauma, but I doubt I'll be successful. She digs in her heels like 3 year old at times.  It isn't just us she behaves that way.  She handles all disagreements and reality in general. Good lady, but  nothing ever gets settled. The family dynamics are....interesting.

But thank you all. I'll update tomorrow. Time to feed kitties and watch mindless TV and let my poor, tired brain rest.
