Martin Shkreli is the Big Pharma bro who first drew nationwide attention and scorn after his drug company announced it would levy a 5,000 percent price increase on Daraprim, a life-saving drug for HIV, cancer, and other immune deficiency diseases. He was later convicted on two counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud. Now the real-life aspiring Bond villain is making headlines again, this time for offering a public bounty to “grab a hair” from Hillary Clinton while she’s on her book tour:
That’s right, Shkreli is offering $5,000 to some sicko fan of his to obtain a hair from Hillary Clinton so he can sequence her DNA. All without her consent. Seems like the Secret Service might have something to say about this creepy bounty.
Why would Shkreli be attacking Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the Clinton Foundation has helped lower the cost of HIV/AIDS medications for 11.8 million people worldwide.
