Here we go again. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) says she's "appalled" by "completely inappropriate" tweets from the unindicted co-conspirator in the Oval Office. Trump attacked Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has come forward with assault allegations against his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. But—and there's always a but with Collins—maybe, she says, Ford is lying.
"First of all," she says, "we know that allegations of sexual assault—I'm not saying that's what happened in this case—but we know allegations of sexual assault are one of the most unreported crimes that exist." Because you never know, women lie, right? It happens! Which is of course one of the primary reasons women don't report, because people like Collins will be there to cast doubt on whether it really happened.
Collins is still working her way around to justifying her vote for Kavanaugh. She's doing so by throwing everyone who's a survivor of sexual assault under the bus. And she's still not saying "no" to the president who has appalled her yet again, or to his nominee.
