Yesterday I shot off a nasty email to the Lieberman camp about his outlandish statements about Dean in the media soup of Sunday. I was licking my chops for Hardball tonight but I was, in truth, really astonished...really.
While there were some positions that I differed with, naturally, I was truly shocked at how civil and respectful and tepid he was about his disagreement ,policy wise, with Dean. His self aggrandizing "This is now a race between Dean and me" from yesterday and months past was gone. His usual whiny bitterness had turned to dust and this pleasant regular guy who you could talk to about politics showed up instead.
Somebody gave him a stiff a-talkin' too since yesterday I guess. I guess they told him that he should start to make nice because the writing is on the wall in regards to his candidacy.
Chris Matthews cornered him about the historic place of pre-emptive war and that he (Lieberman) would vote for Dean in the election if he wasn't the nominee...
I don't know where I am going with this except to say that based on his performance tonight alone Lieberman is an alright and menchy guy and definitely a Democrat and ,I think, resigned to the fact that he isn't going to be president but has come to that realization that he needs to stop with the politics of destruction against other democrats.
