I just spent a week in Wyoming. All told, I probably talked to 60 different people during that week, most were from small to medium-size towns across the U.S. I did not always bring up the topic but within minutes, the conversation always turned to the disaster that is the Bush Administration. I'd say, 90% were vehemently anti-Bush. I was amazed that this was so often at the forefront in people's minds.
What I wonder is this. Bush did not pull even 50% of the vote in 2000. I'm reading he's seriously losing support in the Muslim, Hispanic, Cuban and gay communities. I'm sure there are more. Where the heck is his 50% approval rating coming from?
I'm beginning to think this country is not as polarized as the press and pollsters keep telling us. I think, not unlike the CIA, they are working with old, unreliable intelligence and are putting forward their data based on false assumptions. They assume it's a 50/50 country, then find people willing to answer their poll questions based on their own false premises.
Any thoughts on the subject?
