I have the extreme good fortune to be employed by a very rich, very smart and very liberal television executive. Recently he asked me to look into leasing billboard space in a swing state (preferable Ohio) for an anti-Bush statement. If I could figure out how to import the artwork into this diary to show you what it would look like, I would. But I can't. So, I'll describe it to you.
It's an image of George Bush at a podium (grainy black & white photo) and along side the picture are the words "Let's face it, he lied to us." The message is one of cathartic resignation designed to appeal to those swing voters who may have at one time or another thought that they supported Bush, but who hate to feel like they've been duped. The thing is, I can't find a billboard. It seems most billboards, at least those with any significant visibility, are owned by Clear Channel or one of it's subsidiaries. I've been in contact with them, but they won't run the ad without alterations. Specifically, they want us to change it from a statement to a question. They suggested we change the wording to "Did he lie to us?" This is exactly the kind of weak political rhetoric that my boss and I object to.
So, I was wondering if anyone out there in blogland knows of a billboard, preferably one with high visibility, in a swing state that would be available to lease from now until November.
