Yesterday I was in a mall shopping lot and noticed some Bush/Cheney stickers and lots of support our troops stickers. I asked myself; how can we get to these people and at least make them sit and think about their decision to vote for Bush? Talking to these people is futile ... it always digresses into us against them and no one listens - everyone is dug in.
My mother once told me; "When someone throws you a ball, they expect you to catch it and throw it back. Take the ball, and throw it somewhere else, and make them run for it".
So here is my idea: I typed up a "10 reasons why Conservatives should NOT vote for Bush". I made copies of it and keep them in my car. When I go to a shopping center and see a Bush sticker, I place one on their windshield. Its easy, fast, and effective - somthing to let them read and think about. Feel free to make your own list, change some of these, or cut and paste. Keep it from a conservative angle, not from a liberal one; talk about God and Jesus and conservative icons. Here's the one I wrote up and am passing out. Its something we can ALL do - its easy, creative and fun. You will never convince them to vote for Kerry, but you can plant the seed of doubt in their mind to either sit out the election or throw their vote away to Nader.
10 REASONS WHY CONSERVATIVES SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR GEORGE BUSH
-
- The situation in Iraq is a disaster and getting worse, and more troops, possibly someone you know, will die there.
- As someone who proclaims to be a Christian; he doesn't practice Christian values of truth, compassion, or forgiveness. Would Jesus attack preemptively? Or would he try to have a dialog with his adversaries?
- Terrorists can now get Assault weapons in their terror war on America.
- He is giving contracts to his friends to help build Iraq while you and I pay more in gas prices.
- Real conservatives like Pat Buchanan think he has sold out our conservative values.
- Bob Dole's former chief of staff, Stan Hilton, believes there is more to 9/11 than is being told and Bush is hiding many details - that he is not being honest with the American people. Stan Hilton is a respected Christian Conservative.
- Ever since George Bush has been in office we have had nothing but bad things happen to us.
- Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the attack of the US, has not been a priority to Bush. He has gotten away to attack us again.
- Other countries like Iran and North Korea are now aggressively building up their nuclear programs because they know the US is bogged down in Iraq and doesn't have the troops or budget to go after them. We are not safer by any means.
- Are you better off now then you were 4 years ago? The late Ronald Regan, father of the modern conservative movement, asked Americans this in 1980. We must still ask ourselves this question, as President Reagan would expect us to do. He was a true patriot and wise man. We should honor him by doing this.
We are not asking you to vote for John Kerry. We are asking you to question why you would vote for a man who has abandoned our values, cost us more in financial turns and emotional terms, and can't tell the truth. Truth is God's name, and we should expect our leaders to be truthful with us. When there is no truth but deceit and treachery, God will punish us. The scriptures tells us this.
If you agree with the above reasons, we ask you cast a protest vote for Ralph Nader, or not vote at all. Even Bill Clinton, with all his failings, kept the US out of debt. You and your children must pay the bill that has been rung up. Are you ready to dig into your pockets? Vote your heart. You know what is right, and what is truth. If we elect George W Bush, we will have a dear price to pay. We cannot have a false prophet at the helm of our country. There will be much pain and suffering for our families. The hurricanes of Florida are a sign; God has already started punishing those who are supporting the false prophet and there is much more to come. We need to practice the love we were taught and that starts in the election booth.
Thank you,
CHRISTIANS for TRUTH in POLITICS
Please pass this around to other Christians. God Bless you all, and God Bless America
