folks
Wxdave here.... I have noticed that some have wondered about weather conditions for NOV 2. Besides being an Independent that is voting FOR kerry I am a well known Meteorologist that runs a very popular web site.
The web site is called www.wxrisk.com
Its is VERY different from what you get at accu-wx or The weather Channel. 80% of my business (50 million hits in 62 months) in ENERGY and AG trading field so most of my time is in extended weather forecasts... from 36 hours to 30 days...
ELECTION DAY will feature a MAJOR Low pressure area moving up the Mississippi valley. There will be low pressure moving from eastern MO into central ILL then into western MI by Tuesday night.
Ahead of this low amazingly warm air and south winds will bring GREAT voting wx over the East coast as far south as FL and GA and into eastern MI OH WVA Eastern KY and half of IND.
Because of the shape of the Jet stream the piece of energy (called a short wave in the wx biz) that is driving this Low in lower ILL will develop a "negative tilt". This means that as the day wears on the effect of this negative tilt and moist warm air and south winds AHEAD of the front... heavy to severe thunderstorms are likely to develop over MISS LA ARK ILL western TN western KY MOST of ILL WISCONSIN and MI.
In these areas some TORNADIC THUNDERSTORMS and localized flooding rains are possible.
As I see it right now as the day progresses conditions over WISCONSIN will clear from west to East... The last 6 hours of voting will be RAIN free.
Here are my wx maps for NOV 2...
