Just a week or so ago, the general feeling was that John Kerry pandered to the right so much. We were all pissed at him for not responding to the SBVFT quicker. He did not run a great campaign against an opponent who was easily beatable. After the election, we were all pissed when he called the election for Bush too early.
We were all pissed when he did not vote for the Ohio challenge.
We were all pissed when it seemed he would run in 2008.
But now, a new John Kerry has arrived!
First, Kerry is one of 12 Senators in the entire Senate, and one of only two on the Judiciary committee, to vote against Condoleeza Rice.
Now, John Kerry has taken an outspoken hard line stance on almost every issue.
John Kerry certainly will vote against Alberto Gonzalez.
I just got an email from John Kerry. In this email(which im sure you have all seen), he talks about his new health care plan for children. It is called the "Kids First Act". This is certainly a Democratic position- and this is a bill drafted by him.
In his website there is also a link to "Replace Rumsfeld". It is still there.
Here is some of what Kerry said in his statement:
"We have to hold President Bush and his Cabinet accountable for the policies of their administration. We can’t have a Cabinet -- or a Congress -- that rubber stamps policies that will undermine Social Security, balloon the deficit, avoid real reforms in health care and education, weaken homeland security, and walk away from critical allies around the world".
This is not coming from the campaign John Kerry. This is coming from the new John Kerry.
John Kerry has shown a great new side to himself. Him and Barbara Boxer together will mount a great opposition party, one we have not seen since at least 2002.
Thank John Kerry for what he is doing, and encourage him to keep it up.

Thank John Kerry. If he truly is positioning himself for another 2008 run, maybe it wont be so bad. I used to think it would, but this is a new John Kerry. He knows how to run a campaign now. He finally seems to have become the person who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
Under Dean's leadership as DNC chair, we can do this. John Kerry and Barbara Boxer are leading the way in the Senate. And now with a strong Democratic Party emerging, things are maybe looking up. :)
