I have to say, as a part-time Kossack, that I am extremely impressed with the organization and the dedication that was exhibited in exposing the "Jeff Gannon" story.
I know Kos has a few irons in the fire with separate websites from the primary Dailykos.com website. I think he should add one more iron to the fire -- a website dedicated to "investigative blogging".
There are so many things out there that could use the same treatment that the "Jeff Gannon" story got. It seems to me that the Scoop software would be ideal for this.

Individual diaries could be created to track each investigation. SusanG did a great job with daily updates to the investigation in the Gannon story, that is a good template to use.
The MSM refuses to investigate or report on anything that veers away from the scripts that they use to give us the news. If the blog community wants this job to be done, well, it is up to the blog community to do it.
There are several examples already of great investigative blogging. The Plame incident, if I remember correctly, was unknown until it appeared in a few blogs. Gadflyer did a great job exposing the Rev. Moon coronation and the links to our elected politicians.
Let's use the Comments section here to discuss the feasibility of such a site, and to list those things which could stand a good investigation. I'll start with the connections between the Starr OIC and the Jones Defense team. I'd really like to see Ann Coulter and Howie Kurtz exposed as having committed major felonies.
